1. Is it just one cover or is there 2? I’m not sure how I feel about spending 400$ on 2 license plate covers.

2. Are they made out of decent quality materials?

Very. Hardcore steel frames and thick, UV resistant Vinyl.

3. What all comes with the covers?

Everything you need for install and operation. 

4. Is it a wireless activation? Or is it a wired switch? Or both?

Both. Comes with a fob and a push button switch. 

5. Is there an indicator that lets you know you’ve actually activated the system? I’d hate to need it and not know it’s working.

Yes. There are LEDs on both the switch housing and there is a satellite indicator that you can mount in the cab.
